Job summary

St Bernadette Catholic Secondary School in West of England is seeking a dedicated safeguarding professional to serve as the Designated Safeguarding Lead and join the Senior Leadership Team. You will shape safeguarding and attendance strategies in partnership with staff and families.

You will coordinate mental health and wellbeing provisions, ensure statutory compliance and drive safeguarding, attendance and pastoral leadership across the school.

Qualifications

• Experience safeguarding professional with knowledge of Keeping Children Safe in Education.
• Strong leadership and relationship-building with pupils, families and external agencies.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills.
• Commitment to Catholic ethos and values of the school.

Responsibilities

• Lead safeguarding and child protection across the school as the Designated Safeguarding Lead.
• Lead the school's attendance strategy to improve attendance and reduce persistent absence.
• Coordinate the school's mental health and wellbeing provision for pupils.
• Collaborate with pupils, families, staff and external agencies to safeguard vulnerable children.
• Provide strategic leadership as a member of the Senior Leadership Team.
• Lead safeguarding, attendance and pastoral staff while ensuring statutory compliance and best practice.
