Fresh Start Recruitment in Mansfield, England, is seeking a Production Engineering Manager (Design & Manufacturing) to bridge product design and manufacturing. You will lead an engineering and production team, drive DFM/DFA, and direct initiatives to deliver innovative products efficiently, with quality and cost targets.

The role oversees manufacturing processes, continuous improvement, and cross-functional projects, ensuring adherence to standards while guiding budgets and capital investments

Qualifications

• Degree or equivalent in Mechanical/Manufacturing Engineering or related discipline.
• Proven experience in Production/Manufacturing Engineering or Engineering Management.

Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor and manage the Production Engineering team with technical guidance.
• Oversee product design and development to ensure manufacturability and cost-effectiveness.
• Drive Design for Manufacture (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA) across the lifecycle.
• Develop and implement manufacturing processes to improve productivity, quality and efficiency.
• Manage engineering projects from concept to production launch.
• Support NPI activities and product improvements.
• Monitor KPIs related to quality, cost, delivery and safety.
• Collaborate with Production, Quality, Procurement and Sales to meet objectives.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, quality and environmental standards.
• Manage engineering budgets, resources and capital investment projects.
