Job summary

Thomas Tallis School in Greenwich invites an experienced and highly organised Lead Technician to join our Design & Technology team. You will manage the D&T workshops, oversee materials and equipment, and line-manage two D&T Technicians to keep workshops safe and well resourced.

The role supports teachers and students across Key Stage 4 and 5, ensuring compliance with health and safety requirements, maintaining tools and machinery, and fostering positive working relationships.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a D&T Technician, preferably in a school or similar environment.
• Strong understanding of health and safety requirements in a D&T workshop, including maintenance and risk assessments.
• Experience maintaining and organizing tools, machinery and workshop resources; ability to lead a small team.

Responsibilities

• Line manage two D&T Technicians and deploy the team effectively.
• Ensure workshops, tools and machinery are safe, well maintained and appropriately resourced.
• Support teachers and students across the D&T curriculum and assist with student projects at KS4/KS5.
