Job summary

E-ACT Parker Academy in Daventry is seeking a proactive Design Technology Technician to support practical learning across Parker and DSLV Secondary Academies. You will prepare materials, maintain specialist equipment, ensure health and safety compliance, and provide technical support to teachers and students.

The role offers a fixed schedule: 39 weeks term-time, with generous pension arrangements and opportunities for professional development within a trusted education community.

Qualifications

• 5 GCSEs including Maths and English (grade 4-9) or equivalent.
• Understanding of health and safety requirements within practical learning environments.
• Ability to prepare and maintain materials, tools and equipment to a high standard.
• Ability to demonstrate, role model and inspire a passion for learning.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, set up and clear away materials, tools, equipment and resources required for lessons and practical activities.
• Provide technical support to staff and students during practical Design Technology activities, as required.
• Organise, monitor and maintain departmental resources, materials and equipment.
• Support the maintenance of a safe working environment in accordance with Health and Safety legislation and academy policies.
