Job summary

Marchant Recruitment are supporting a highly regarded secondary school in Haringey, London, to recruit a Design Technology Technician for the DT department. This full-time, permanent role focuses on hands-on workshop support and helping students access practical design and fabrication activities.

You will prepare materials, maintain equipment and assist teachers during lessons, ensuring safety and COSHH compliance in a well-equipped workshop environment that includes CAD/CAM facilities and 3D

Qualifications

• Experience as a DT Technician or in hands-on workshop roles.
• Knowledge of workshop safety, COSHH and equipment maintenance.
• Ability to support KS3–A-Level lessons and practical sessions.
• Proactive, practical and independent worker.

Responsibilities

• Prepare timber, metals, acrylics, plastics and tools for practical lessons.
• Set up and clear away equipment for KS3–A-Level lessons.
• Maintain workshop machinery including band saws, pillar drills, sanders, 3D printers and laser cutters.
• Support students and teachers during practical sessions.
• Ensure health & safety and COSHH compliance in all activities.
• Manage stock and order materials, keep equipment organised.
