Step Teachers Ltd is seeking a Design Technology Teacher for a full-time, long-term opportunity starting January 2027 at an 11–18 secondary school with a sixth form in Norfolk. The role covers Key Stages 3 and 4, requiring engaging lessons, solid DT knowledge and strong safeguarding commitment.

Ideal candidates will have QTS or equivalent, experience teaching DT in secondary settings, and the ability to inspire creativity, problem solving and practical skills while maintaining a safe workshop

Qualifications

• QTS or equivalent is required.
• Experience teaching Design Technology in a secondary setting.
• Strong knowledge of DT concepts and practical skills.
• Ability to engage and motivate diverse learners.
• Excellent classroom management and organisation.
• Commitment to safeguarding and promoting welfare of children.

Responsibilities

• Teach Design Technology across Key Stages 3 and 4.
• Plan and deliver engaging practical and theory-based lessons.
• Assess, monitor and report on student progress.
• Maintain a safe and productive workshop/classroom environment.
• Support students in developing confidence and independence.
• Contribute to the wider development of the DT curriculum.
