We're on the lookout for a brilliant DT Teacher with a passion for Resistant Materials, especially woodwork and metalwork, to join our friendly Wakefield secondary school. Whether you're a whizz with a lathe or just really good at making sure Year 10s wear their goggles, we want to hear from you!
Teaching engaging and practical lessons in woodwork, metalwork, and resistant materials at GCSE level
Inspiring the next generation of designers, builders, and engineers
Keeping our workshop safe, well-stocked, and full of ideas
Helping students turn their sketches into something they can actually hold in their hands
Working with a great team of techy, crafty, and creative colleagues
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and experience teaching DT at secondary level
Confident working with tools and machinery (and ensuring everyone still has 10 fingers at the end of the lesson!)
A creative mindset and a practical approach to problem-solving
Enthusiasm for helping students succeed – whether they’re destined for design school or the trades
A good sense of humour and a willingness to get stuck in
A well-equipped workshop and a supportive, down-to-earth team
Opportunities for CPD and professional growth
Students who are curious, creative (and sometimes a bit chaotic – in the best way!)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
