TeacherActive is seeking a dedicated Design Technology Teacher for a mainstream secondary school in Newcastle. The role covers Resistant Materials, Woodwork and Art & Design across KS3/KS4, with full planning, delivery, marking and assessment responsibilities.

The successful candidate will hold QTS (ECTs welcome), have strong subject knowledge, excellent classroom management and the ability to inspire students to develop practical skills and creativity within the National Curriculum.

TeacherActive is proud to be working with a mainstream secondary school based in Newcastle, who are looking to appoint a Design Technology Teacher. The school provides education to students across Key Stage 3 / KS3 and Key Stage 4 / KS4, offering opportunities for students to develop their creative, technical and practical skills through Design Technology.

The school is looking to take on a dedicated Design Technology Teacher on a full-time, long-term basis, with an Immediate Start or January 2027 start date available. The successful Design Technology Teacher will be responsible for delivering engaging lessons across Resistant Materials, Woodwork and Art & Design, including full planning, preparation, marking and assessment responsibilities.

The successful Design Technology Teacher will have:

Qualified Teacher Status / QTS (ECTs are also welcome to apply)

Experience teaching Design Technology across Key Stage 3 / KS3 and Key Stage 4 / KS4

Strong subject knowledge in Resistant Materials, Woodwork and Art & Design

Experience planning, delivering and marking lessons in line with the National Curriculum

Excellent classroom management and communication skills

A positive, adaptable approach with the ability to engage and inspire students
