Job summary

Bright Star Talent is seeking a Design and Technology Teacher with a strong engineering background to join a secondary school in Thornton, L23. The role focuses on engineering and technical design, with no textiles or woodwork teaching.

You will deliver engaging lessons, develop pupils' understanding of engineering principles, help them build practical skills and evaluate their work. You will assess progress, adapt lessons for diverse learners, and maintain a safe, well-organised classroom.

Qualifications

• Develop pupils’ understanding of engineering principles, materials and design processes.
• Help pupils build practical skills, develop ideas and evaluate their work.
• Assess progress and adapt lessons to support different learning needs.
• Maintain a safe, organised learning environment during practical activities.

We are looking for:

• A qualified teacher with QTS or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
• Experience teaching engineering or engineering focused Design and Technology.
• Strong subject knowledge and confident classroom management.
• A commitment to inclusive teaching and supporting pupils of all abilities.
• Availability to start ASAP.
