Job summary

TeacherActive is supporting a welcoming and ambitious all-through academy in Bridgwater to appoint a Design Technology Teacher with a Food Technology specialism from January 2027.

This full-time, long-term post involves delivering engaging and practical Food Technology lessons across KS3 and KS4, developing students' knowledge of food preparation, nutrition and safe cooking, while maintaining high standards of behaviour and safety in the lab.

Qualifications

• QTS with a Design Technology or Food Technology specialism (ECTs welcome)
• Experience teaching Food Technology across KS3/KS4
• Strong knowledge of food preparation, nutrition and practical cooking techniques
• Excellent classroom and behaviour management, including food hygiene and health & safety
• Ability to deliver creative, differentiated practical lessons and inspire students

The school is looking to appoint an enthusiastic Design Technology Teacher with a Food Technology specialism on a full-time, long-term basis from January 2027. The successful Design Technology Teacher will be responsible for delivering engaging and practical Food Technology lessons across Key Stage 3 / KS3 and Key Stage 4 / KS4, developing students' knowledge of food preparation, nutrition and practical cooking skills while maintaining high standards of classroom management and health and safety.

Salary: £34,069 - £52,835 per annum

Contract: Long-term, Full-Time

The successful Design Technology Teacher will have:

• QTS with a Design Technology or Food Technology specialism (ECTs are welcome to apply)
• Experience teaching Food Technology across Key Stage 3 / KS3 and Key Stage 4 / KS4
• Strong subject knowledge in food preparation, nutrition and practical cooking techniques
• Excellent classroom and behaviour management skills, including a sound understanding of food hygiene and health and safety
• The ability to deliver creative, engaging and differentiated practical lessonsA genuine passion for inspiring young people and contributing positively to a supportive school community
