Job summary

BEAR Scotland Limited in Perth is hiring a Design Technician to join our Asset Team on a full-time, hybrid basis. You will develop priority defect repairs and design traffic signs to keep the trunk road network safe. If you’re not yet qualified to HNC/HND in Civil Engineering, you can study for these qualifications as a Junior Technician.

Responsibilities

• Preparation of designs, including drawings, specifications, bills of quantities and Operations Instructions for repair of traffic signs and other defects.
• Compliance with the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations.
• Compliance with Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality procedures that form part of the company’s Integrated Management Systems.

It connects communities from Uig on the Isle of Skye to the historic cities of Perth and Stirling, offering a unique opportunity to work across a landscape that’s as diverse as it is inspiring.

We have an exciting opportunity for a Design Technician to join our existing team on a full-time basis. Reporting to the Design Team Leader within our Asset Team, you will be responsible for the development of priority defect repairs, involving the design of traffic signs and interventions required to keep the trunk road safe for all users.

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Preparation of designs, including drawings, specifications, bills of quantities and Operations Instructions to enable repair of traffic signs and other defects.
• Compliance with the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations.
• Compliance with Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality procedures that form part of the company’s Integrated Management Systems.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience:

• If not already qualified to HNC or HND Level in Civil Engineering, the successful candidate will be given the opportunity to study for these qualifications as a Junior Technician.
• Full UK Valid Driving Licence
