Job summary

Ernest Gordon Recruitment is seeking an experienced Mechanical Designer for a Worksop position offering training on Tekla or Advance Steel. The role involves developing bespoke designs for material handling and structural steel projects, including surveys and detailed drawings.

The ideal candidate has a background in material handling equipment design and will contribute to delivering high-quality manufacturing drawings across UK projects.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Develop bespoke design solutions for material handling and structural steel projects.
• Attend customer sites across the UK to gather information for designs.
• Produce general arrangement drawings and detailed manufacturing/fabrication drawings.
• Design and detail conveyors, chutes, hoppers, silos, tanks and ductwork.
• Create drawings for primary and secondary structural steelwork, including staircases and platforms.
• Produce 3D layouts and models of plants and material handling systems.

Are you an experienced Mechanical Designer, with a background in material handling equipment, looking for an exciting opportunity within an established manufacturer that could train you on Tekla or Advance Steel software?

Do you have experience taking designs from initial site surveys and general arrangements through to detailed manufacturing drawings?

Established for over 30 years, this successful engineering business specialises in the design, manufacture and installation of bespoke material handling and structural steel solutions for a wide range of industrial applications.

Working across projects involving conveyors, chutes, hoppers, silos, ductwork and structural steelwork, the company has built a strong reputation for delivering practical, high-quality engineering solutions tailored to its customers' requirements.

The role would suit someone with material handling equipment design experience who looking for the opportunity to be trained on Tekla or Advance Steel within a well-established engineering business.

The Role

• Working closely with the engineering team to develop bespoke design solutions for material handling and structural steelwork projects
• Attending customer sites across the UK to carry out surveys and gather information for engineering designs
• Producing General Arrangement drawings and detailed manufacturing/fabrication drawings
• Designing and detailing conveyors, chutes, hoppers, silos, tanks, ductwork and material handling equipment
• Producing drawings for primary and secondary structural steelwork, including staircases, platforms and access steelwork
• Producing 3D layouts and models of manufacturing plants and material handling systems
