Job summary

Ernest Gordon Recruitment is recruiting an experienced Design Team Leader in Canterbury to oversee a CAD team and deliver bespoke manufacturing projects. The role focuses on reviewing and approving technical drawings, coordinating R&D initiatives, and guiding the team from concept to completion.

With a manufacturing/construction background, you will ensure on-time, on-budget delivery and mentor junior engineers. The position offers a clear path to senior leadership within a growing business.

• Proficient in AutoCAD.
• Background within a manufacturing or construction environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support a small CAD team in the successful delivery of bespoke manufacturing projects.
• Review, check and approve technical drawings and designs.
• Contribute to research and development projects, including the creation of new designs.
• Work closely with production teams to ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget.
• Monday to Thursday, 8:00am – 5:00pm and Friday, 8:00am – 4:00pm (39 hours per week).

Are you a Design Team Leader from a manufacturing or construction background, looking to join a rapidly growing business, where you will oversee a small team, helping to deliver large scale projects for a variety of high profile clients, offering further development to senior manager roles?

In this role, you will oversee a close-knit CAD team, managing workloads and coordinating bespoke fabrication projects from concept through to completion. You will be responsible for reviewing and approving technical drawings, maintaining the drawing register, contributing to R&D initiatives and developing new product designs, while also providing ongoing technical guidance and support to the wider team.
