Job summary

Prime Appointments Ltd in Colchester is recruiting a motivated CAD Designer with a foundation in CAD design and knowledge of the construction industry. You will produce layout drawings and calculations using AutoCAD and Excel, and liaise with clients, architects and engineers to gather design details.

You will issue drawings with covering letters, manage manufacturing schedules, update databases, and communicate across departments. A full training plan is provided; own transport preferred.

• Raising adjustments on orders to suit customer requirements and update database
• Communicating relevant information to other departments

Salary - £28,000 – £35,000 depending on experience

There will be a full training plan in place, providing the successful candidate has a foundation level of education or experience in CAD Design.

Duties:

• Working in a busy design team to produce layout drawings and calculations using
• AutoCAD and Microsoft Excel.
• Contact Clients, Architects & Engineers via telephone/email to obtain design details, comments / amendments / approvals of working drawings
• Issuing manufacturing schedules to factories
• Issue drawings with covering letters/emails
• Raising Adjustments on orders to suit customer's requirements and update database
• Communicating relevant information to other departments

Experience:

• Construction industry knowledge gained through education or experience preferably
• A good working knowledge of AutoCAD, Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
• Must have excellent organisational & communication skills coupled with good time management and a sense of urgency
• Attention to detail is essential with a confident and professional telephone manner
• Self-motivated, methodical approach with focus on customer service

You must have own transport to be considered for this role.
