Job summary

Jobtailor in the United Kingdom seeks a senior Design Strategy lead to shape the New Reservoirs Programme across DCO, Reference, ECI, Early Works and Enabling Works. You will own design liability, risk ownership, CDM responsibilities, and ensure clean hand-offs between supply partners.

You will define and maintain the Technical Assurance Strategy across the supply chain, oversee work-package integration, and manage the Technical Assurance Manager.

• Requires extensive leadership in large design-and-build procurements.
• Demonstrates strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Knowledge of design liability, CDM responsibilities, and integration across supply chain.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain the Design Strategy for the New Reservoirs Programme across DCO, Reference, ECI, Early Works and Enabling Works.
• Ensure design liability ownership, risk ownership, CDM responsibility clarity, and effective hand-off between supply partners.
• Design and maintain the Technical Assurance Strategy across the supply chain.
• Oversee work-package integration, assurance plans, and technical scopes for procurement.
• Manage the Technical Assurance Manager responsible for day-to-day system and process management.
• Define, develop, and maintain Client Requirements aligned with programme outcomes and efficient delivery.
• Provide direction and oversight to solution development and manage requests to change or develop requirements.
• Supervise a Requirements Manager.
• Coordinate independent Technical Assurance activities, including technical scoping and progress monitoring.
• Liaise with engineering, programme management, commercial, procurement, regulatory, and delivery teams.
• Drive continuous improvement in health, safety and wellbeing and maintain a zero-accident culture.
