Job summary

Seloxium Limited, a university spin-out, seeks a Process Engineer (Design and Scale up) for its Redcar site. You will support design, installation, operation and scale-up of pilot plant equipment, collaborating with engineers and chemists to push efficient, sustainable metal recovery processes.

You will join a fast-moving team bridging development and engineering, contributing to continuous improvement, commissioning, and regulatory compliance in a challenging, on-site role in Redcar, Teesside.

Qualifications

• Degree in Industrial/Chemical/Mechanical Engineering (MEng/BEng).
• 10+ years’ experience in process engineering scale-up and pilot plants.
• Experience collaborating with a process design engineering team.
• Chemical design engineering and mass balance capability.
• Plant-facing mindset with ability to use data analytics effectively.
• Process safety/DSEAR awareness and meticulous record keeping.

Responsibilities

• Design, install, operate and maintain pilot plant equipment.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support development and scale-up.
• Inspect equipment, troubleshoot issues and implement preventive maintenance.
• Manage plant utility systems including electrical, water, gas, and air supply; ensure health, safety and environmental compliance.
• Support commissioning of new equipment and pilot scale systems, including staff training.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance plant safety, reliability and sustainability.
• Maintain compliance with regulatory and safety requirements and keep meticulous risk assessments.
