Job summary

Arcus FM Limited is seeking a talented Design and Project Manager to coordinate design activities across refurbishment, fit-out and construction projects nationwide in the UK. The role suits an experienced Design Manager or Project Manager expanding into design coordination, BIM and CDM responsibilities.

You'll lead design teams, ensure buildability and compliance, and work with pre-construction and operations teams to deliver on time and within programme.

Qualifications

• HNC, HND or equivalent in Construction, Architecture, Building Services, Engineering or related discipline, or equivalent industry experience.
• Full UK Driving Licence.
• Experience within contractor, consultant, architectural, engineering or design coordination environments.
• Understanding of construction methodologies, sequencing and buildability.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Degree in a relevant discipline.
• Professional membership or working towards accreditation.
• Experience within retail, commercial, public sector or FM project environments.
• Knowledge of JCT and NEC contract frameworks.
• BIM, Information Management or Common Data Environment experience.
• Project management qualifications or training.
• Health & Safety training and CDM awareness.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate design activities across the project lifecycle while supporting wider project delivery where required.
• Coordinate consultants, specialist designers and design teams across multiple projects and track deliverables.
• Facilitate design workshops, coordination meetings and technical reviews.
• Review design information to ensure client requirements, statutory obligations and buildability standards are met.
• Manage RFIs, technical queries, design changes and design risk registers.
• Coordinate information flow between clients, consultants, subcontractors and delivery teams.
• Support BIM, document control and Common Data Environment (CDE) processes.
• Assist with Building Regulations, Building Safety Act and CDM compliance requirements.
• Support bids, tenders and technical submissions; contribute to design reviews and buildability assessments.
• Assist with consultant appointments and design responsibility matrices; support programme development and governance reporting.
