Job summary

slihrms is seeking a Design Coordinator to manage design and construction for the Dartford tunnels and QE2 Bridge. You will coordinate internal and external design resources, review proposals, and lead with method engineering for complex installations, while maintaining safety by design.

You will work with CPS Asset Team and National Highways to ensure timely sign-off, budget adherence, and continuous improvement across live assets.

Qualifications

Relevant vocational qualifications (MEng/MSc/BEng/BSc/HNC/HND).
Membership of an appropriate professional institution beneficial (ICE, IET or IMechE).
Knowledge of CDM and other H&S legislation.
Broad understanding of engineering principles for bridge and tunnel construction.

Responsibilities

Coordinate and manage design and construction activities for the Dartford tunnels and QE2 Bridge.
Review framework contractors' proposals and manage external design consultants.
Lead design/method workshops and weekly site presence to interface between site and design teams.
Check activity Control Plans, QA records, NCRs and ensure TQs are raised and answered with suitable solutions.
Produce weekly programme and forecast design resources to meet the programme of works.
Identify items of additional work and raise notifications as needed.
Ensure designs meet DBFO contract standards and CPS internal standards.
Liaise with National Highways and CPS/CP teams and other stakeholders.
