Currently, we are involved in the design and management of major water sector projects, with significant opportunities arising from our appointment onto Thames Water's Asset, Capital & Engineering framework. This creates an opportunity for a Design Manager to join our team, based in London, Cambridge, Reading, or High Wycombe, with hybrid working arrangements.

As a Design Manager within our Major Projects community, you will play a key role in ensuring the successful delivery of major projects, integrating skills from multiple disciplines. Your responsibilities will include overseeing all aspects of delivery, potentially including design & build projects, detailed design delivery, and owner’s engineer services, all requiring complex multidisciplinary collaboration.

You will identify innovative and sustainable solutions, work collaboratively with clients and partners, plan technical delivery, and lead multidisciplinary teams. Your leadership will aim to deliver value and client service excellence, leveraging Stantec’s expertise to exceed expectations.

About You

You will have experience leading design on major projects, possibly as a Design Manager, Project Manager, Project Engineer, or Project Leader. Your background is likely technical—engineering, construction management, environmental, or consulting.

You hold qualifications in engineering or project management and have an understanding of large, complex construction or engineering projects, especially within water or related infrastructure sectors.

Through your experience, you have built trusted relationships with clients and stakeholders and mentored less experienced team members. You support company values, particularly prioritizing people and clients.
