Job summary

Building Careers UK Ltd is recruiting a Design Manager for a residential contractor delivering new-build projects for Registered Providers across the North West. You will lead the design process from pre-construction through to project delivery, ensuring designs are fully coordinated and issued to programme deadlines.

You will coordinate consultants and internal teams, manage design programmes, review technical information, and resolve design risks early to ensure compliance with Planning

Qualifications

• Experience in Design Manager role within residential construction.
• Experience with new-build housing developments is advantageous.
• Experience working on affordable housing schemes for Registered Providers or Housing Associations is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Oversee design development from pre-construction through to delivery.
• Review technical information and ensure it is accurate and coordinated.
• Manage consultant appointments and ensure design information aligns with programme deadlines.
• Ensure designs meet planning conditions, Building Regulations and relevant technical standards.
• Identify and resolve design issues and manage design changes to mitigate risks.
• Coordinate with site teams, consultants, subcontractors and other stakeholders to ensure constructability.
