Job summary

JRL Group is seeking a Design Manager to lead the design team for civils and structural works in Borehamwood and on nearby projects. You will coordinate internal and external designers, ensure design deliverables align with DRM/IRS, and support construction methods with fit-for-purpose information.

The role requires RC framework and groundworks experience, a construction degree, UK work experience, and SMSTS/1st Aid with CSCS credentials.

Qualifications

• RC framework and groundworks experience in residential and commercial sectors.
• Construction degree qualification.
• UK work experience and valid CSCS card.
• SMSTS and 1st Aid certifications.

Responsibilities

• Manage and coordinate the design team (internal and external) and the design development/review process.
• Work with site delivery team to ensure information is fit for purpose and construction methods.
• Review design information as it develops and rectify issues with the design team.
• Develop and monitor design delivery against agreed deliverables and report performance.
• Develop and manage the design programme with consultants and planner for bids or projects.
• Create and manage the design information schedule to satisfy design, procurement and construction needs.
• Oversee on-site design management with appropriate resource and ensure timely information production.
• Ensure design deliverables are within budget, coordinated, and buildable.
• Provide guidance to the project team on design issues and bid requirements.
• Appoint the design team and manage fees and resources.
