Job summary

A Design Manager is sought to support a major construction contractor across the Southwest. Based from the Southampton office with Exeter options, you will lead design management and coordination on public-sector projects in education, healthcare or MoJ sectors.

The role requires coordinating consultants and multidisciplinary teams to deliver on time and to high standards. The position is a 6-month contract with ASAP start, working from the Southampton/Chandler's Ford office, with potential for

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Design Manager within the construction industry.
• Strong understanding of design management and design coordination.
• Experience managing design consultants and multidisciplinary design teams.
• Good understanding of construction design processes and documentation.
• Experience working closely with project and site teams.

Responsibilities

• Manage and coordinate the design process from early stages through to construction.
• Coordinate design information between consultants, contractors and project teams.
• Review designs to ensure they meet project requirements, programme and quality standards.
• Identify and manage design risks, changes and technical issues.
• Work closely with project, commercial and site teams to support project delivery.
• Monitor design progress and ensure information is available when required on site.
• Support design reviews, technical meetings and stakeholder coordination.
• Maintain and manage design documentation and relevant project information.
