Job summary

Guidant Global is seeking an experienced Design Manager to support a major construction contractor across the Southwest, based from the Southampton office with Exeter as a potential location.

The role focuses on leading design management and coordinating information between consultants, contractors and project teams to ensure on-site delivery and compliance with programme and quality standards.

THE ROLE

We are seeking an experienced Design Manager to support a major construction contractor on projects across the Southwest. The successful candidate will be based from the Southampton office, with Exeter also potentially available. Experience working on public-sector construction projects is highly desirable, particularly within education, healthcare or MoJ.

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS

• Proven experience as a Design Manager within the construction industry.

• Experience managing design consultants and multidisciplinary design teams.
• Good understanding of construction design processes and documentation.
• Experience working closely with project and site teams.
• Ability to work from the Southampton/Chandler's Ford office.

DESIRABLE SKILLS

• Previous experience working on public‑sector construction projects.
• Experience within education/schools, healthcare or MoJ projects.
• Knowledge of SCF (Southern Construction Framework), Procure or P23 frameworks.
• Previous experience working for a Tier 1/main contractor.
