Job summary

Bigblue in Scotland is seeking a Design Manager for a 60-room luxury hotel fit-out in St Andrews. You will lead design management from PCSA through to delivery, coordinating with client, architect and consultants.

Starting May 2027 on site, the role offers an attractive daily rate of £350-£400 and the chance to shape a high-profile hospitality project in a iconic Scottish location.

Qualifications

• Strong background in hotel or luxury hospitality fit-out projects.
• Experience of PCSA or two-stage tender projects is ideal.
• Confident in managing multiple stakeholders across design disciplines.
• Comfortable with MEP coordination and FF&E interfaces.
• Able to bring structure to a busy design process and deliver on time.

Responsibilities

• Take ownership of design management across the project with client, architect, interior designer and consultants.
• Coordinate design information and manage the design programme.
• Drive value engineering and buildability reviews.
• Ensure packages are issued on time to support procurement.
• Manage flow of information to delivery team and on-site contractors.
• Resolve design queries quickly and maintain control of change.

Design Manager - Luxury Hotel Fit-Out

St Andrews, Fife | Temporary

£350-£400 per day

I'm working with a respected fit-out contractor on a 60 room hotel project in St Andrews, and they need an experienced Design Manager to lead the design process from pre-construction through to delivery.

The project is currently in PCSA, with a start on site planned for May 2027. It's a great chance to get involved early, shape the design from the outset and see it through to handover on a high-profile hospitality scheme in one of Scotland's most iconic locations.

What you'll be doing:

• Taking ownership of design management across the project, working closely with the client, architect, interior designer and consultant team during PCSA
• Coordinating design information and managing the design programme
• Driving value engineering and buildability reviews
• Making sure packages are issued on time to support procurement
• Managing the flow of information to the delivery team and specialist contractors once on site
• Resolving design queries quickly and keeping a firm grip on change
