Job summary

Confero Recruitment Group is partnering with an award-winning interior design practice to recruit a Senior Interior Designer for its Glasgow studio. You will lead luxury hospitality projects from concept through delivery, balancing creativity with commercial and operational requirements.

You will manage client relationships, coordinate with consultants and contractors, and mentor junior designers while ensuring high design standards across multiple projects on an international stage.

Qualifications

• 5+ years' experience in Interior Design or Interior Architecture, with hospitality focus.
• Proven experience delivering high-end hospitality or premium leisure projects.
• Strong portfolio showing creativity and attention to detail.
• Experience leading projects through all RIBA stages from concept to completion.
• Excellent client-facing skills and ability to manage stakeholder expectations.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and delivery of luxury hospitality and high-end hotel projects from concept to completion.
• Develop design narratives, mood boards, material palettes and FF&E specifications.
• Prepare and review presentation packages to communicate design intent to clients and stakeholders.
• Build relationships with operators, developers and project teams; manage multiple projects and resources.
• Coordinate with architects, consultants, suppliers and contractors; oversee technical drawings and interior documentation.

Due to continued growth within their Glasgow team, we are seeking a talented Senior Interior Designer who can confidently lead projects from concept through to delivery, balancing creativity with commercial awareness and technical excellence. The Role

As a Senior Interior Designer, you’ll take ownership of luxury hospitality projects, managing multiple workstreams whilst maintaining exceptional design quality and client relationships.

You will be responsible for translating client briefs into innovative, commercially successful interiors that combine creativity, functionality and operational efficiency.

Working closely with clients, consultants, contractors and internal design teams, you’ll ensure projects are delivered to the highest standards from inception through to completion.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design and delivery of luxury hospitality and high end hotel projects from concept to completion
• Develop compelling design narratives, mood boards, material palettes and FF&E specifications
• Produce and oversee presentation packages that effectively communicate design intent to clients and stakeholders
• Build strong relationships with hotel operators, developers and project teams through confident and professional client-facing engagement
• Manage project programmes, resources and design deliverables across multiple projects simultaneously
• Coordinate with architects, consultants, suppliers and contractors throughout the design process
• Oversee technical drawing packages and detailed interior documentation
• Balance creative ambition with project budgets, operational requirements and commercial objectives
• Attend client meetings, workshops and presentations, representing the practice with professionalism and confidence
• Support and mentor junior designers, helping develop technical and creative capability across the team
• Monitor design quality and ensure projects are delivered in line with programme, budget and client expectations

What We're Looking For

• 5+ years' experience within Interior Design or Interior Architecture
• Proven experience delivering high-end hospitality, luxury hotel or premium leisure projects
• Strong design portfolio demonstrating creativity, originality and an exceptional eye for detail
• Experience leading projects through all RIBA stages from concept design through to completion
• Excellent client-facing skills with the confidence to present ideas, build relationships and manage stakeholder expectations
• Strong commercial awareness and an understanding of balancing design aspirations with budgetary considerations
• Ability to effectively manage workload, prioritise competing deadlines and oversee multiple projects simultaneously
• Strong technical capability with experience producing detailed drawing and specification packages
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, SketchUp and Adobe Creative Suite
• Revit experience would be advantageous
• A personable, collaborative and proactive approach with excellent communication skills
• Passion for creating outstanding guest experiences through innovative interior design
