Job summary

STRABAG UK is seeking a Design Manager to lead the design process across a diverse portfolio of Build and Industrial & Logistical projects. You will coordinate multidisciplinary teams, ensure timely, compliant design deliverables, and drive collaboration among clients, consultants, subcontractors, and internal teams.

You will maintain design deliverables, progress tracking, and KPI reporting, while upholding professional standards and company procedures.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Design Manager in construction.
• Degree or equivalent in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, or related discipline.
• Strong understanding of design management processes across major building and Industrial & Logistical projects.
• Experience managing multidisciplinary consultant teams and specialist subcontractors.
• Excellent knowledge of construction methodologies, building regulations, and technical standards.
• Strong programme management and coordination skills.
• Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and leadership capabilities.
• Professional membership with a recognised institution.
• Knowledge of BIM processes and digital construction tools.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate the design process throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring design information is delivered on time and within budget.
• Work closely with clients, consultants, subcontractors, and internal delivery teams to drive collaboration and manage design risks.
• Represent the design department at internal and external meetings and act as focal point of contact when needed.
• Allocate design tasks and maintain overall team performance; ensure documentation and design deliverables meet procedures.
