Job summary

Galliford Try is seeking a Design Manager in Edinburgh to lead and coordinate the design delivery across projects. You will manage relationships with clients, subcontractors, and design teams to ensure designs meet project requirements and compliance standards.

The role requires strong CDM 2015 experience, buildability understanding, and the ability to manage design change processes while engaging with senior stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Experience with CDM 2015 compliance.
• Aware of health and safety responsibilities.
• Ability to read and interpret design and construction programmes.
• Understanding of buildability and sequencing.
• Analytical with strong problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication skills with senior stakeholders.
• Commercial acumen and design change management.

Responsibilities

• Manage client, subcontractor and design team relationships for design delivery.
• Lead the design process per the Building Management System.
• Apply CDM 2015 and safety in design.
• Identify and mitigate design risks.
• Select designers and ensure competency checks.
• Develop scope/responsibilities for consultants and manage fees.
• Develop design programme with Planner and monitor information releases.
• Manage planning, Building Control, and other statutory processes.
• Conduct site inspections to verify as-built meets design.
