Job summary

AtkinsRéalis seeks an experienced Design Manager to join the Epsom-based team. You will coordinate design work packages across multi-discipline projects from inception through to completion, ensuring interfaces, risk, and delivery milestones are effectively managed.

You will work with Project Managers, discipline leads and clients to establish design requirements, coordinate data interfaces and support buildable, safe outcomes aligned with programme, cost and quality targets.

Qualifications

• Experience in design management or engineering management within infrastructure delivery.
• Ability to lead defined design work packages and multidisciplinary projects.
• Broad technical competence and understanding of interfaces and systems integration.
• Experience coordinating design deliverables, reviews, requirements and technical information.
• Understanding of project scope, programme, budget, risk, quality, change and commercial arrangements.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate delivery of design work packages from inception to completion within scope.
• Contribute to the Design Management Plan and ensure sign-off by discipline leads.
• Support confirmation of design requirements, deliverables, interfaces and milestones.
• Develop and coordinate Basis of Design, deliverables and technical interfaces.
• Apply QA/QC processes to ensure compliance with design brief and client requirements.
• Identify and monitor risks, escalating significant matters to senior colleagues.
• Monitor progress, resource demand and expenditure, and provide delivery information to Project Manager.
• Support changes in scope and assess programme impacts under NEC contracts.
• Build relationships with clients, stakeholders and multidisciplinary teams.
• Coordinate input to BIM Execution Plan and common data environment.
