Job summary

PSR Solutions is seeking a proactive Design Manager for a leading Tier 1 contractor in South Wales, with travel to sites across the South West and South Wales. The role focuses on coordinating design information and supporting delivery from early stages through to completion.

You will oversee the design function, engage with consultants, clients and internal teams, ensure compliance with regulations, and strive to improve buildability, value and project performance on complex schemes.

Qualifications

• Background in design management within the construction industry on complex projects.
• Strong awareness of regulatory and safety requirements.
• Experience delivering project information, technical documentation and delivery schedules.
• Practical design approach enabling on-site delivery.
• Analytical mindset to assess issues and propose solutions.
• Ability to explain technical matters clearly to the team.
• Strong interpersonal and client-facing relationships.
• Commercial awareness of design decisions and project costs.
• Experience in a main contractor or Tier 1 environment preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee design coordination from early stages to completion.
• Act as a key liaison between design and project teams.
• Ensure technical information meets construction requirements.
• Monitor compliance with legislation, regulations and standards.
• Review proposals and identify cost/delivery risks.
• Coordinate consultants and design deliverables.
• Support site design queries and approvals.
