Job summary

O’Neill & Brennan is seeking a Design Manager to lead the design process on a large new build residential development in Southampton, Hampshire. The contract role requires a minimum six months on site, spanning pre-construction and construction phases on a live project.

You will lead design workshops, review information for buildability and compliance, and coordinate between design and delivery teams to drive seamless execution.

Qualifications

• Experience as Design Manager on major residential projects.
• Minimum of 5 years in an established company.
• Experience with Tier 1 contractors or developers on residential schemes.

Responsibilities

• Manage and coordinate all aspects of design across pre-construction and construction stages.
• Lead design workshops and progress meetings with clients, consultants, and internal teams.
• Review and manage design information for buildability, compliance, and value.
• Drive collaboration between design and delivery teams to ensure seamless project execution.
• Support bid and tender submissions with design input and value engineering.
• Monitor design programmes, manage risks, and ensure timely delivery of information.

Design Manager – New Build residential – Southampton, Hampshire

This leading Tier 1 contractor has an immediate requirement for a Design Manager to join the company to work on live project in Hampshire on a contract basis for a minimum of a 6 month period.

The project is a large new build residential development which will have a mix of houses and flats and will run for 3yrs over various phases of building.

Key Responsibilities as Design Manager;

• Manage and coordinate all aspects ofdesignacross pre-construction and construction stages.
• Leaddesignworkshops and progress meetings with clients, consultants, and internal teams.

As a Design Manager, you will have worked on major residential projects for recognised Tier 1 contractors or developers. You will have been a Design Manager for a minimum of 5yrs at recognised companies.
