Murphy is recruiting a Design manager to support our expanding Water & Wastewater portfolio, delivering full design-to-operation solutions for Uisce Éireann, Northern Ireland Water and other key clients, underpinned by our commitment to delivering safely, responsibly and to the highest standards.

The role focuses on leading MEICA and on-site coordination, ensuring safety, quality and timely delivery across multiple projects, while working closely with clients and subcontractors to optimise

Qualifications

• 2-3 years’ experience in a similar role, preferably in water & wastewater.
• Degree in Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, Environmental Engineering or Environmental Science/Chemistry.
• Knowledge of Safety, Health & Welfare at Work Regulations 2013.
• PSCS/CSCS-type site coordination experience preferred.
• Experience with MEICA engineering works and on-site coordination.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design-to-operation delivery on water & wastewater projects.
• Work with clients, stakeholders and third-party agencies.
• Oversee MEICA scope, process systems and electrical installations.
• Coordinate PSDP on live projects with internal and external designers.
• Represent the company on-site as PSCS and ensure documentation is up to date.
• Collaborate with civil/building, process and other engineers.

What you will be doing:

• The main duties and responsibilities of the PCI Project Manager are outlined as follows:
• Work as part of a team in the delivery of one or more projects at any one time, embracing the ethos of a "one team" culture.
• Ensure Health, Safety, Environmental & Sustainability standards, policies and procedures are always adhered to on-site.
• Work closely and collaborate with all key stakeholders including clients, client representatives and third-party agencies.
• Lead the construction team in all aspects of the MEICA scope of works.
• Liaise closely and support other engineering disciplines including civil/building engineering and the process teams.
• Facilitate the co-ordination role of the PSDP for live projects with internal and external designers.
• Represent the company as PSCS on live sites within your remit and co-ordinate all required documentation to be present on-site and up to date.

Who we are looking for:

• Minimum of 2-3 years’ experience working in a similar role, preferably in the water and wastewater industry.
• Minimum of a Level 8 Honours Degree in Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, Environmental Engineering or Level 8 Honours Degree in Environmental Science or Chemistry with extensive industry experience.
• Extensive working knowledge of the Safety, Health and Welfare at Work (Construction) Regulations 2013.
• Holder of a certificate in Managing Safely for Construction Managers preferable but not essential.
• Experienced in MEICA engineering works such as process systems mechanical installation, control panels, electrical installations, commissioning and process proving activities.
• Ability to engage with the customer as well as suppliers and sub-contractors in financial negotiations and final account agreements.
• Good working knowledge of programme management software such as Microsoft Project.
• Ability to prepare baseline programmes and programme updates.
• Full Driving License.
