AA Euro Group is currently recruiting an experienced Design Manager to join a Tier 1 contractor working on pharmaceutical facilities around Manchester. The Design Manager will report to the project team, fully understanding and managing the design requirements of the tender/project, and providing guidance to design coordinators as appropriate. This is a 5-year framework for small works ranging from £300k to £4m.

Responsibilities

• Manage design consultants, sub-consultants, and subcontractors to ensure correct and timely delivery of design information for on-site execution.
• Manage and mentor design coordinators involved in the projects.
• Contribute to Employer’s Requirements and Contractor Proposal Compatibility.
• Assist and manage the Design Coordinator during the construction phase.
• Chair and document design meetings, ensuring information production aligns with project requirements.

Experience

• Experience in project development from RIBA Stage 2 to 7, with multiple projects running concurrently.
• Background in fit-out/remodelling works on pharmaceutical projects.
• Knowledge of NEC Contracts.
• Architectural or MEP design background.
• Understanding of life science, manufacturing, or assembly processes.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and View Point for Projects (4Projects).

Qualifications

• Degree in a construction-related discipline.
• Minimum six years of construction industry experience.
