Job summary

O’Neill and Brennan in South Wales is recruiting an experienced Design Manager to lead the design process on a £90m flagship construction project from inception to handover. You will own design coordination, drive buildability and ensure timely information flow with consultants, subcontractors and the client.

Working with a seasoned project team, you’ll chair design workshops, manage design programmes, and push value engineering while maintaining quality and programme alignment on site.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Design Manager with a main contractor.
• Proven track record delivering large construction projects (£50m+ desirable).
• Strong technical understanding of construction methodologies.
• Excellent communication and coordination skills.
• Experience managing consultant teams and design programmes.
• Relevant construction qualification.

A leading and highly reputable main contractor is about to commence a prestigious £90 million construction scheme in South Wales, creating an excellent opportunity for an experienced Design Manager to join the project from the outset.

This is a rare chance to take ownership of the design process on a flagship development, working alongside a highly experienced project team and ensuring successful coordination from pre-construction through to completion.

The Role

As Design Manager, you'll lead and coordinate the design process, ensuring information is produced, reviewed and issued in line with programme requirements. You'll work closely with consultants, subcontractors, clients and the operational team to deliver practical, buildable and commercially effective design solutions.
