Sir Robert McAlpine is seeking an experienced Design Manager to join the delivery team for a major UK project in Bedfordshire in partnership with Universal Studios. You will lead design coordination, ensure technical compliance, and support value-driven solutions across stakeholders.

You'll bring a track record of managing design on large-scale (£100m+) schemes, deep knowledge of CDM and Building Regulations, and experience with P23 and NEC3 contracts within the healthcare sector.

Responsabilidades

• Establish the quality of the design and verify the stage of design development and whether any elements of the design do not comply with the Employer's Requirements.
• Identify, detail and evaluate areas where the compliant design could be improved such that a better value solution could be offered in the project / tender submission.
• Assess, in conjunction with the planning team, the suitability of the proposed design about the proposed method and sequence of construction and provide advice regarding proposed changes to the design.
• Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders to deliver innovative, compliant solutions.
• Ensure adherence to statutory requirements, planning permissions, Building Regulations, CDM regulations, and contract-specific standards.
• Identify opportunities for design improvement and manage risks effectively.

We are currently seeking an experienced Design Manager to join our team and work on one of the UK's largest construction programmes with Universal committing more than £5 billion to the development and targeting an opening in 2031.. As one of the main contractors appointed to support construction of the resort, Sir Robert McAlpine will play a key role in delivering this landmark development.

The Design Manager Role:

The Design team will delivertechnicallycompliant, cost-efficient designsolutions as part of the new Hospitals 2.0 programme. You'll assistwithsubmissionsand have an excellentappreciationof the clients' needs, ensuring that all questions have been answered in full, providing a commercial solutionwiththe best possible chance of success.
