Job summary

Severn Trent Plc is seeking a Design Engineer to join the in-house Wastewater Networks Design Team in Raynesway (Derby). You’ll support and progressively take ownership of design work packages for wastewater infrastructure and CSO projects, collaborating with hydraulic modellers, project managers and specialists to develop safe, practical solutions.

You will explore options, develop innovative approaches, and produce coordinated designs and reports.

Qualifications

• Degree-qualified (desirable) with progress toward incorporated or chartered status.
• Engineering discipline required.
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Full UK driving licence required.

Responsibilities

• Support feasibility assessments, optioneering and outline design for wastewater projects.
• Explore engineering options that are safe, practical, sustainable and valuable.
• Develop innovative wastewater solutions including SuDS and nature-based approaches.
• Produce coordinated civil designs, calculations, drawings and reports for wastewater assets.
• Collaborate with contractors and multidisciplinary teams to deliver buildable solutions.
• Ensure Health and Safety is integrated into the design lifecycle.
