Job summary

MWH Treatment is seeking an EICA Senior/Engineer to join the Hattersley team. The role involves coordinating engineering design to minimise risk and maximise profits on turnkey projects, with hybrid working and regular site attendance.

You will report to the RDL and produce design documents and drawings, ensuring health and safety, specifications, and standards are met across contracts.

Qualifications

  • Essential: Full membership of a professional institution.
  • Minimum: HND in engineering; degree preferable.
  • Ability to rationalise designs and produce economical plant layouts.
  • Ability to assimilate large amounts of data quickly.
  • Experience with EICA deliverables (Load schedules, SLD, BCDs, Instrument Indexes, scoping specs).
  • Full driving license.

Responsibilities

  • Produce cost‑effective design layouts that meet specifications and are constructible and commissionable.
  • Ensure standard practices are used wherever possible.
  • Provide estimates and feedback for proposals department.
  • Coordinate designs with all internal and external disciplines to ensure coordination across the contract.
  • Work within defined procedures and processes as guided.
  • Maintain a safe working environment for all staff.
  • Reduce waste from departmental activities and consider environmental issues.
  • Ensure designs take account of health and safety requirements.

Job description

We arelooking to strengthen our engineering team with a EICA Senior / Engineerbased at Hattersley, hybrid working available with an expectation to attend sites on a regular basis.

You will report directly to the RDL and your role will be to provide superior quality Engineering Design services to allow the company to minimise risks and maximise profits on turnkey and engineering services contracts. You will co-ordinate the design and produce design documents and drawings taking due account of health and safety requirements, specifications and standards pertaining to the contract.

Key responsibilities will include:
  • Produce design layouts which are cost effective, meet the requirements of the specification and which can be constructed and commissioned effectively.
  • Ensure that standard practices are utilised wherever possible.
  • Provide estimates and feedback for proposals department.
  • Work to procedures and processes as guided.
  • Provide Feedback on the procedures and processes.
  • Ensure co-ordination of designs with all other disciplines internal and external to MWHT in order to ensure that the design processes carried out on the contract are co-ordinated for the benefit of the contract as a whole.
  • To work within a culture where satisfying the customer is recognised as the key to achieving other objectives, and that customers include everyone receiving benefit from our processes, whether end users or other departments within the company.

  • Assist in ensuring a safe working environment for all staff.

Essential:Full Membership of a professional institution.Minimum:- relevant discipline Engineering HND. Preferable: - relevant discipline Engineering degree.Ability to rationalise designs and produce economic plant layouts.A flexible mind, with the ability to assimilate large amounts of different data at one time.Ability to present technical proposals clearly, confidently and convincingly.Experience of developing EICA deliverables such as Load schedules, SLD, BCDs Instrument Indexes and scoping specification's etc.Computer literacy.Full Driving licenseDesirable:Understand the principles of water and sewage treatment.Working towards Chartered Engineer status.Relevant Engineering Master's Degree
