Job summary

MWH Treatment Limited is expanding its engineering team in Hattersley with a Senior/EICA Engineer. The role includes coordinating design across disciplines, producing cost-effective layouts and ensuring HSE compliance. Hybrid working is available with regular site attendance at client sites.

Essential qualifications include engineering HND (or degree) and professional membership. You will develop EICA deliverables and provide design input to maximise profitability on turnkey projects.

Qualifications

  • Full membership of a professional institution.
  • Minimum: Engineering HND in a relevant discipline.
  • Preferable: Engineering degree.
  • Ability to rationalise designs and produce economic plant layouts.
  • Experience in EICA deliverables (Load schedules, SLDs, BCDs, Instrument Indexes).
  • Valid full driving license.
  • Desirable: understanding water and sewage treatment.
  • Working towards Chartered Engineer status.
  • Master's degree in Engineering.

Responsibilities

  • Produce cost-effective design layouts that meet specifications and can be constructed and commissioned.
  • Ensure standard practices are used wherever possible.
  • Provide estimates and feedback for proposals department.
  • Coordinate designs with all disciplines to ensure cohesive integration on the contract.
  • Contribute to safe working practices and environmental considerations.
  • Maintain a personal development plan.
  • Attend sites regularly and support project delivery.

Job description

We arelooking to strengthen our engineering team with a EICA Senior / Engineerbased at Hattersley, hybrid working available with an expectation to attend sites on a regular basis.

You will report directly to the RDL and your role will be to provide superior quality Engineering Design services to allow the company to minimise risks and maximise profits on turnkey and engineering services contracts. You will co-ordinate the design and produce design documents and drawings taking due account of health and safety requirements, specifications and standards pertaining to the contract.

Key responsibilities will include:
  • Produce design layouts which are cost effective, meet the requirements of the specification and which can be constructed and commissioned effectively.
  • Ensure that standard practices are utilised wherever possible.
  • Provide estimates and feedback for proposals department.
  • Work to procedures and processes as guided.
  • Provide Feedback on the procedures and processes.
  • Ensure co-ordination of designs with all other disciplines internal and external to MWHT in order to ensure that the design processes carried out on the contract are co-ordinated for the benefit of the contract as a whole.
  • To work within a culture where satisfying the customer is recognised as the key to achieving other objectives, and that customers include everyone receiving benefit from our processes, whether end users or other departments within the company.
  • Maintain a personal development plan.
  • Assist in ensuring a safe working environment for all staff.
  • Reduce waste to a minimum from all departmental activities.
  • Ensure designs take account of environmental issues.
  • Ensure that design takes full regard of all health and safety requirements.

Essential:Full Membership of a professional institution.Minimum:- relevant discipline Engineering HND. Preferable: - relevant discipline Engineering degree.Ability to rationalise designs and produce economic plant layouts.A flexible mind, with the ability to assimilate large amounts of different data at one time.Ability to present technical proposals clearly, confidently and convincingly.Experience of developing EICA deliverables such as Load schedules, SLD, BCDs Instrument Indexes and scoping specification's etc.Computer literacy.Full Driving licenseDesirable:Understand the principles of water and sewage treatment.Working towards Chartered Engineer status.Relevant Engineering Master's Degree
