Job summary

MWH Treatment Limited in the UK is looking to strengthen our engineering team with an EICA Engineer based at Bristol or Exeter, hybrid working available with regular site visits. You will coordinate the design and produce design documents and drawings, taking due account of health and safety requirements, specifications and standards pertaining to the contract.

Responsibilities

  • Produce cost‑effective design layouts that meet specifications and can be constructed and commissioned.
  • Ensure standard practices are utilised wherever possible.
  • Provide estimates and feedback for proposals department.
  • Develop and monitor procedures to aid the department's development.
  • Monitor and review procedures and processes.
  • Write, update and monitor efficient procedures for the department.
  • Coordinate designs with other disciplines to ensure contract coherence.
  • Maintain a focus on customer satisfaction and identify end users and other stakeholders.
  • Maintain a personal development plan.
  • Assist in ensuring a safe working environment for all staff.
  • Reduce waste in departmental activities.
  • Ensure environmental, health and safety considerations are incorporated into designs.
  • Ensure that design takes full regard of health and safety requirements.

Job description

We arelooking to strengthen our engineering team with an EICA Engineerbased at Bristol or Exeter, hybrid working available with an expectation to attend sites on a regular basis.

You will report in discipline and your role will be toprovide superior quality Engineering Design services to allow the company to minimise risks and maximise profits on turnkey and engineering services contracts. You will co-ordinate the design and produce design documents and drawings taking due account of health and safety requirements, specifications and standards pertaining to the contract.

Key responsibilities will include:
  • Produce design layouts which are cost effective, meet the requirements of the specification and which can be constructed and commissioned effectively.
  • Ensure that standard practices are utilised wherever possible.
  • Provide estimates and feedback for proposals department.
  • Work to procedures and processes to ensure the continuing development of the department.
  • Monitor and review the procedures and processes.
  • Write, update and monitor efficient procedures to aid the smooth running of the department.
  • Ensure co-ordination of designs with all other disciplines internal and external to MWHT in order to ensure that the design processes carried out on the contract are co-ordinated for the benefit of the contract as a whole.
  • To work within a culture where satisfying the customer is recognised as the key to achieving other objectives, and that customers include everyone receiving benefit from our processes, whether end users or other departments within the company.
  • Maintain a personal development plan.
  • Assist in ensuring a safe working environment for all staff.

Qualifications

Essential: Understand the principles of water and sewage treatment.

Full Membership of a professional institution.

Minimum
  • relevant discipline Engineering HND.
  • Preferable: relevant discipline Engineering degree.

Ability to rationalise designs and produce economic plant layouts.

A flexible mind, with the ability to assimilate large amounts of different data at one time.

Ability to present technical proposals clearly, confidently and convincingly.

Computer literacy.

Driving license.

Desirable
  • Working towards Chartered Engineer status.
  • Relevant Engineering Master's Degree.
