Job summary

Ernest Gordon Recruitment is recruiting a Mechanical Design Engineer for a Newark-on-Trent client. The role involves producing 2D manufacturing drawings for client approval, creating and maintaining BOMs, and amending designs with calculations and site surveys.

You will provide technical support to the shopfloor and work Monday–Thursday 7:45–16:30, Friday 7:45–14:30. The position offers industry training, an early Friday finish and comprehensive company benefits in a well‑established

Qualifications

• Experience in mechanical design and 2D drafting.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD.
• Experience creating and modifying Bills of Materials (BOMs).

Responsibilities

• Producing 2D manufacturing drawings for customer approval.

• Amend existing designs and perform calculations and site surveys.
• Provide technical support to the shopfloor.

In this role you will be responsible for producing 2D manufacturing drawings and site layouts for a range of clients. You will create and maintain bills of materials, amend designs, produce calculations, carry out site surveys and liaise with production and manufacturing teams to provide technical support to the shopfloor.
