Gel Engineering Ltd is actively seeking a skilled Design Engineer in East London to join our water-industry team. You will collaborate with project managers to prepare drawings and develop 2D/3D models using Inventor.

The role emphasizes producing production-ready designs with strong attention to QEHS standards and client requirements. The ideal candidate holds a Mechanical Engineering degree with proven Inventor experience and proficiency in CAD software such as AutoCAD or SolidWorks.

Qualifications

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field, desirable.
• Inventor experience essential and proven design drawing capability.
• Proficiency in CAD software (AutoCAD or SolidWorks) required.

Responsibilities

• Assess design briefs and surveys to gauge design requirements.
• Use Inventor to create 2D and 3D models.
• Perform quality checks to ensure drawings are production-ready.
• Communicate design concepts with team and clients.
• Collaborate with project managers and engineers to define criteria.
• Research user needs, market trends and functionality.
• Develop design solutions meeting QEHS standards and quality.
• Produce multiple drawing iterations using CAD tools.
• Evaluate against standards, regulations and asset criteria.
• Create accurate designs, BOMs, and detailed drawings on time.
