Severn Trent is seeking a Design Engineer to join our Derby-area team, based in Raynesway. You will contribute to the design of wastewater networks, including CSO considerations, working with hydraulic modellers, managers, and contractors to deliver practical solutions.
You will progressively take ownership of technical work packages under senior guidance, employing site investigations and asset data to craft safe, buildable designs that balance performance with sustainability.

We have an exciting opportunity for a Design Engineer. The role will be based in Raynesway (Derby). This role will sit within our expanding in-house Wastewater Networks Design Team, supporting the development of civil engineering solutions for our wastewater infrastructure and CSO programme. Our Design Team uses its technical expertise to develop wastewater network solutions from feasibility and optioneering through outline design. As a Design Engineer, you will support and progressively take ownership of technical work packages, with appropriate support and assurance from senior engineers.
You will work with hydraulic modellers, Project Managers, Operations, consultants, contractors and technical specialists to understand wastewater network problems and develop safe, practical and sustainable engineering solutions. You will use hydraulic modelling, asset records, operational evidence, surveys and site investigations to assess options and produce coordinated design information that supports investment and delivery decisions.
