PE Global is looking for a Design Engineer in Peterborough to join a leading multinational industrial manufacturer. The role is an initial 12-month contract with onsite work during the week.

You will design and develop solutions for complex Quality and Manufacturing challenges, lead DFMEA, and collaborate with suppliers to meet high quality and cost targets. The ideal candidate has a strong mechanical or automotive engineering background, experience with CREO and Team Centre, and knowledge of

Competenze

• Strong technical background in mechanical/automotive engineering.
• Experience with FMEA/DFMEA and APQP tools.
• Knowledge of manufacturing processes and GD&T.
• Experience with 3D modelling software (CREO).
• Familiarity with Type approvals and emissions modules is beneficial.

PE Global is currently recruiting for a Design Engineer for a leading multi-national industrial manufacturer client based in Peterborough.

This is an initial 12 month contract position and candidates must be willing to work onsite during the week.

Duties of the role/Responsibilities

• Design and develop solutions for complex issues arising from the Quality and Manufacturing environments.
• Develop strong relationships with suppliers to ensure design solutions are aligned to high quality and cost expectations.
• Lead FMEA creation for engine components and systems, identify risks and create validation plan / DVP&R.
• Write technical reports to document evidence of component and system level validation.
• Create Functional Requirement Documents for Engine component systems.
• Manage communication with peers, team leaders and stakeholders to keep them up to date on the status and progress on projects undertaken.
• Support field and production issues, determine root cause, put in place containment actions, and determine permanent corrective actions. Work with suppliers and keep stakeholders informed of progress and decisions.

Education/Experience

• Strong technical background (HNC or technical degree preferred in mechanical or automotive engineering) though other qualifications or experience are equally valued / demonstrated progressive experience within a relevant role
• Knowledge of Mechanical & preferably an experience in Aftertreatment systems / emissions modules.
• Knowledge and usage of Team Centre – data management software and 3D modelling Software CREO
• Technical specifications and Engineering drawing creation
• Knowledge and application of Manufacturing processes example metal fabrications, moulded parts, GD&T and Engineering standards.
• Apply 6 Sigma methodology in identifying and validating root cause for any in-field customer / technical issues.
• Collaboration with external suppliers to develop technical solutions using APQP tools.
• Experience of creating and participating in DFMEA
• Experience in component and system validation & verification.
• Development and Validation experience gained in the off-highway diesel engine.
