Ready to design the future of aviation luxury for First Class, Business & Super First? Join Collins Aerospace at our Havant facility, where we’re on the lookout for a talented Design Engineer to help craft the next generation of world-class aircraft interiors.

As a global leader in aerospace innovation, we design and deliver cutting-edge cabin solutions for both commercial and private aviation. At Havant, our high-performing team blends creativity, precision, and advanced engineering to shape unforgettable in-flight experiences. If you thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment — this is for you!

What You Will Do:

As a Design Engineer, you will play a key role in developing bespoke product designs for aircraft cabin interior components. You'll collaborate with Program Management, customers, internal departments, and suppliers to deliver reliable, high-performance solutions that meet the highest standards of quality and regulatory compliance.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Creating 2D and 3D CAD designs using SolidWorks
  • Managing Bills of Materials (BOMs)
  • Preparing test solutions and supporting qualification testing documentation
  • Designing across multiple disciplines, including moulding, sheet metal, machining, cables, PCB assemblies, etc.
  • 3D printing prototyping and development, prototype hands-on build
  • Revising documentation based on feedback from peers, customers, and certification authorities
  • Conducting drawing and documentation checks
  • Reviewing technical documentation for accuracy and completeness
  • Attending internal/external meetings and participating in offsite travel as required (minimal)
What You Must Have:

The ideal candidate communicates clearly, builds strong partnerships, and isn’t afraid to tackle tough challenges. You’re someone who focuses on delivering results, acts with integrity, and is always looking ahead — both in your own development and in shaping innovative solutions for our customers.

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • The ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
  • A proactive mindset — comfortable working with incomplete information and driving progress independently
  • Meticulous attention to detail and a strong sense of accountability
  • Comfort navigating a dynamic engineering office environment
  • Solid communication skills, with the confidence to contribute across all levels of the business
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • High-level expertise in SolidWorks or similar CAD software
Qualifications You Must Have:
  • Degree, HNC, or HND in a relevant engineering discipline
  • Product Design experience in an engineering environment
Experience We Would Like:
  • Basic Electronics understanding
