Job summary

Vouchsafe is seeking an experienced, multidisciplinary Design Engineer to bring product sense and rapid prototyping ability to the platform. The role suits those who have held mid-to-senior UX designer, creative technologist or frontend engineer roles.

You will own feature ideas, refine our design system, and translate ambiguous problems into testable prototypes before building them into the platform, while writing production-grade code with AI coding agents and peers.

Responsibilities

• Own and build new feature ideas, based on the product roadmap and customer feedback.
• Iterate on the design system, ensuring it remains a valuable resource for the product engineering team and AI coding agents.
• Turn ambiguous problems and product propositions into testable prototypes before building them into the platform.
• Write production-grade, secure and performant code, with assistance from AI coding agents and fellow Product Engineers.
• Champion accessibility; test that platform features work well with keyboards, screen readers and other assistive technology.
• Participate in customer research, sharing work in progress and influencing the product roadmap based on findings.
• Collaborate with Design and Product Engineers to experiment with new skills and frameworks.
• Support the Head of Marketing to iterate the company brand, stationary, templates and other marketing material.
• Represent Vouchsafe at conferences, expos, meetups and other industry events

Job description

We are looking for an experienced, multidisciplinary Design Engineer to bring product sense, rapid prototyping ability and a keen design eye to the Vouchsafe platform.

This role would be an excellent fit for those who have held mid-to-senior UX designer, creative technologist or front-end engineer/developer job titles in the past.

Responsibilities

• Own and build new feature ideas, based on the product roadmap and customer feedback.
• Make use of and iterate on our design system, making sure it remains a valuable resource for our product engineering team and our AI coding agents.
• With assistance from the CTO and the wider team, turn ambiguous problems and product propositions into testable prototypes before building them into the platform.
• Write production-grade, secure and performant code, with assistance from AI coding agents and your fellow Product Engineers as required.
• Champion accessibility; testing that platform features work well with keyboards, screen readers and other assistive technology.
• Take part in customer research, sharing work in progress and influencing the product roadmap based on what you discover
• Work with your fellow Design and Product Engineers to experiment with new skills and frameworks, and learn together as a team
• Support the Head of Marketing to iterate the company brand, stationary, templates and other marketing material
• Represent Vouchsafe at conferences, expos, meetups and other industry events
