Job summary

Reevr Talent Ltd on behalf of an established UK manufacturer seeks an experienced Design Engineer to take designs from concept through prototype, testing and manufacture. Qualifications

• A degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
• At least 5 years' experience in design engineering.
• Strong mechanical engineering knowledge and practical design experience.
• Good knowledge of design for injection moulding.
• Experience developing products from concept through to manufacture.

Responsibilities

• Planning and delivering design projects from concept through to production.
• Designing and developing products with a focus on performance, quality and manufacturability.
• Applying mechanical engineering principles and design-for-manufacture techniques.
• Using knowledge of injection moulding to optimise product design and performance.
• Developing and building prototypes to validate design concepts.
• Carrying out engineering calculations, tolerance analysis, simulations and testing.
• Producing technical documentation and validation evidence to support design decisions.
• Investigating and resolving engineering problems through hands-on involvement.
• Working closely with internal specialists and other departments throughout the product lifecycle.
• Preparing and presenting design reviews to senior management and stakeholders.
• Ensuring designs meet agreed technical, quality and delivery requirements.

We are working with an established and growing UK manufacturer that is looking to add experienced Design Engineers to its expanding product development team. This is an excellent opportunity to join a business developing innovative products for the UK and European markets, taking designs from initial concept through to prototype, testing and manufacture.

The Role

As a Design Engineer, you will play a key role in developing new products and improving existing designs, working closely with internal engineering and manufacturing specialists to deliver high-quality, commercially viable solutions.

• Planning and delivering design projects from concept through to production.
• Designing and developing products with a focus on performance, quality and manufacturability.
• Applying mechanical engineering principles and design-for-manufacture techniques.
• Using knowledge of injection moulding to optimise product design and performance.
• Developing and building prototypes to validate design concepts.
• Carrying out engineering calculations, tolerance analysis, simulations and testing.
• Producing technical documentation and validation evidence to support design decisions.

About You

We are looking for an experienced mechanical/product design engineer with a strong practical and technical approach.

• A degree or HND in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
• At least 5 years' experience in design engineering.
• Strong mechanical engineering knowledge and practical design experience.
• Good knowledge of design for injection moulding.
• Experience developing products from concept through to manufacture.
• Ideally, experience with flow control, valves, water flow or similar products.
• Experience with CFD and/or FEA would be advantageous.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
• The ability to work independently as well as within a collaborative engineering team.
• Excellent communication skills and confidence presenting technical information.
