Job summary

MTR Partnership is seeking an experienced Head of Design for a landmark healthcare development in West Yorkshire. You will take overall responsibility for the design function, lead the design team and work closely with the client, consultants, supply chain and delivery teams through pre-construction and delivery.

This senior role requires proven design management experience on large healthcare schemes, NEC contract expertise and the ability to drive design programme, manage risk and coordinate

Qualifications

• Significant Design Management experience within Tier 1/main contractor environments.
• Strong track record delivering major healthcare or hospital projects.
• Experience working under NEC contracts.
• Experience leading design teams on large, technically complex schemes.
• Strong understanding of healthcare design, compliance and stakeholder requirements.
• Ability to manage consultants and specialist supply chain partners.
• Strong commercial and programme awareness from a design perspective.
• Confident operating at senior leadership level on major projects.

Responsibilities

• Lead the overall design function across a major healthcare project.
• Manage and develop a multidisciplinary design team.
• Drive the design programme from pre-construction through delivery.
• Coordinate consultants, specialist subcontractors and internal delivery teams.
• Manage design risk, change, compliance and technical challenges.
• Ensure design information is produced in line with programme and construction requirements.
• Work closely with the client and key project stakeholders.
• Provide senior-level design input as part of the leadership team.
