Job summary

Rolls-Royce Submarines is recruiting a Design/Development Engineer to join the Special Purpose Machines Team. The role covers concept through to implementation, with emphasis on designing bespoke SPMs for the Royal Navy's nuclear submarine fleet and delivering thorough engineering documentation.

Candidates should have a mechanical engineering degree or equivalent, hands-on machining experience, and CAD proficiency (Siemens-NX).

Qualifications

• Mechanical engineering degree or equivalent experience.
• Hands-on experience with a broad range of machining processes and tools.
• Proficiency in CAD, ideally Siemens-NX.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop and validate Special Purpose Machines (SPM).
• Produce design solutions and engineering drawings; present at gated design reviews.
• Provide technical support to sub-contract manufacturers and participate in on-site implementation.
