Job summary

King’s Academy Binfield invites applications for a Design Technology/Art/Food technician to support staff and pupils in our all-through academy. The role focuses on enabling a practical curriculum across DT, art and food areas with dedicated workshops, design labs and a ceramics kiln room.

The successful candidate will maintain equipment, assist with demonstrations and align with the Creative Arts team to foster a collaborative, high-performance learning environment.

Qualifications

• Background in Product Design, Resistant Materials and/or Engineering, or Food Technology.
• Experience in a Secondary School department is desirable.
• Team player who will get involved in wider academy life.
• Ability to motivate, inspire and support students.

Responsibilities

• Support teaching staff in the delivery of student practical work and demonstrations.
• Oversee and monitor stock levels and the preparation of equipment and tools for practical work.
• Provide technical support within the Design Technology and Creative Arts departments.
• Collaborate with the Head of Creative Arts and the wider team to support academy life.
