Main Duties and Responsibilities

We are seeking an enthusiastic and dynamic individual to lead the development of our client's Design Centers worldwide. Existing centers are located in Sofia, Bucharest, Barcelona, Casablanca, Istanbul, London, Athens, and Salzburg. This high-impact, global role involves extensive travel and shaping the brand's presence in the architectural and design industries.

As the Design Center Development Manager, you will oversee the entire lifecycle of Design Centers, including site selection, real estate acquisition, renovations, operations, and ensuring spaces are updated with the latest product samples, design ranges, and decor. You will play a key role in inspiring Architects and Designers globally to incorporate their products into projects.

Key Responsibilities:

• Global Expansion: Grow the network of Design Centers across regions. Identify key locations and manage real estate acquisitions.
• Real Estate & Permitting: Manage purchasing, permits, and planning permissions for Design Center properties.
• Project Management: Oversee development and renovation projects, coordinating design, construction, and fit-out teams. Ensure timely and budget-compliant delivery.
• Team Leadership & Training: Recruit, train, and manage Design Center staff. Ensure knowledgeable personnel who can effectively showcase products.
• Ongoing Maintenance & Updates: Support and develop spaces with local teams to maintain high standards.
• Inspiration Hub: Curate Design Centers as inspirational spaces for industry professionals, showcasing products innovatively for various projects.

Requirements:

• Industry Experience: Extensive experience in retail chain development or commercial real estate, with a strong understanding of property ownership and management.
• Real Estate Expertise: Ability to identify ideal locations, and experience with leasing, purchasing, and developing commercial properties globally.
• Interior Design Knowledge: Background or interest in interior design, with an understanding of aesthetics and space visualization.
• Project Management: Proven experience managing complex projects with cross-functional teams.
• Global Mindset: Willingness and ability to travel extensively, managing operations across cultures and markets.
• Leadership: Strong leadership skills, with experience in hiring, training, and motivating teams.
