Job Description:

We have an exciting assignment at a leading Engine Manufacturer focusing on developing new engine systems. Working within their multi-million-pound R&D Centre, you will apply your design and development experience to focus on design and validation solutions.

Collaborating with a global team, you will:

• Join the Component Engineering department and take responsibility for developing core engine components and systems, addressing technical issues in new product development.
• Conduct FMEA on components and systems to identify and mitigate design risks and determine validation needs.
• Plan and execute validation tests.
• Support resolution of production, test, and field issues by diagnosing root causes, implementing containment actions, and developing permanent corrective solutions.

To be considered, ensure your CV reflects:

• A strong technical background (HNC or technical degree preferred in mechanical or automotive engineering), with other qualifications or experience also valued.
• Knowledge of diesel engine core systems such as rotating systems, valvetrain, castings, lubrication, breather, and cooling systems, including bolted joint and sealing experience.
• A good understanding of manufacturing principles and processes.
• Development experience with mechanical components and systems, including rig and complete system testing.
• Experience with 8D problem solving, creation and maintenance of DVP&R and FMEA’s.
• Experience participating in and running FMEA sessions.
• Knowledge and experience using Team Centre data management software.
• Experience following the APQP methodology in new design development.
